Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 29, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you visit AmberKingWriting.com and use its writing, research, and educational tools.
The Site is designed so that writing entered into its browser-based tools is stored locally on the user's device rather than in a server-side database maintained by the Site owner.
Writing Entered Into the Tools
The Site allows users to enter material such as:
- essays and drafts;
- notes and outlines;
- thesis statements;
- source information;
- annotations;
- research notes; and
- other writing-related content.
The writing tools are designed to store this material locally in the user's web browser using browser storage.
The Site does not intentionally maintain a server-side copy or database of writing entered into the browser-based writing tools.
AmberKingWriting.com does not claim ownership of writing users enter into the tools.
Local Browser Storage
The Site uses browser storage, including persistent local storage, to allow users' work to remain available while they use the tools and when they return later.
Locally stored work may remain on the device after the user:
- closes a browser tab;
- leaves the Site;
- closes the browser; or
- returns to the Site later.
Locally stored work may remain until:
- the user uses the Site's Clear function;
- the user clears browser or Site data;
- the browser removes the stored information;
- an institutional device policy removes it; or
- another technical event causes the data to be removed.
Users are responsible for downloading, copying, or otherwise saving important work they wish to keep.
Browser storage may be affected by browser settings, device settings, browser synchronization, private browsing, school or institutional policies, or other third-party services.
Shared and Public Computers
Users should take particular care when using the Site on a shared, school, library, workplace, or public computer.
Because writing may remain in local browser storage, another person using the same browser and device may potentially be able to see work that was not cleared.
Users of shared or public computers should use the Site's Clear function when they are finished and, when appropriate, clear the Site's browser data.
The Site owner does not gain access to writing merely because it remains stored locally in a user's browser.
Information the Site Does Not Require
The writing tools do not require users to create an account in order to use the Site.
The Site does not intentionally require users to provide identifying information such as:
- a name;
- student identification number;
- email address;
- mailing address;
- telephone number; or
- login credentials
in order to use the writing tools, unless a particular feature clearly states otherwise.
Users should avoid entering unnecessary confidential, legally privileged, financial, medical, or other highly sensitive information into writing fields.
Technical Information and Web Hosting
AmberKingWriting.com is hosted by Hostinger.
Like most websites, the hosting system may automatically process or log ordinary technical information when a user visits the Site. This may include:
- IP address;
- date and time of access;
- requested pages or files;
- browser or device information;
- request type;
- general location derived from an IP address; and
- other technical information related to Site traffic or operation.
This technical information is separate from writing entered into the browser-based writing tools.
The Site owner does not intentionally use ordinary hosting logs to identify individual students or connect a particular visitor's identity with writing created using the tools.
Hostinger may process technical information according to its own privacy practices. Users may review Hostinger's Privacy Policy .
How Technical Information May Be Used
Technical information associated with visits to the Site may be used as reasonably necessary to:
- operate and maintain the Site;
- troubleshoot errors;
- understand general Site traffic;
- maintain security;
- investigate misuse or technical problems; and
- comply with legal obligations.
The Site owner does not use student writing to create advertising profiles.
Contact Form
The Site may provide a Contact form that allows users to submit:
- questions;
- technical concerns;
- privacy concerns;
- copyright or intellectual-property concerns;
- requests for permission; or
- other inquiries.
Unlike writing entered into the browser-based writing tools, information entered into the Contact form is intentionally transmitted so that the Site owner can receive and, when appropriate, respond to the message.
Users should not include unnecessary confidential, legally privileged, or highly sensitive information in Contact form submissions.
If the form allows users to provide an email address or other contact information, that information will be used for purposes related to the inquiry and will not be sold or used for unrelated advertising or marketing.
Contact-form messages may be retained as reasonably necessary to respond to inquiries, maintain records of permission requests or intellectual-property concerns, address Site issues, or comply with legal obligations.
The Contact form may use a third-party service to transmit or store messages. If so, this Privacy Policy will identify that service or explain its role.
Cookies and Browser Technologies
The Site may use browser technologies necessary to provide or support its functionality.
The writing tools use local browser storage to preserve user work as described in this Policy. Local browser storage is stored on the user's device and is different from a server-side database.
Browser settings may allow users to view, block, or delete Site data. Blocking or deleting browser storage may prevent some features from working correctly or may cause stored writing to be lost.
Student Writing Is Not Sold or Used for Advertising
The Site owner does not intentionally:
- sell student essays, drafts, notes, or other writing entered into the tools;
- rent that writing to advertisers;
- use that writing to create advertising profiles;
- provide that writing to data brokers; or
- use writing entered into the browser-based writing tools to train commercial artificial-intelligence models.
Artificial Intelligence
Some of the programming used to create or maintain the Site may have been developed with the assistance of generative-AI coding tools.
That does not mean that writing entered by users is automatically submitted to an artificial-intelligence service.
The Site's writing tools are designed to store and process user writing locally in the browser unless a particular feature clearly informs the user otherwise.
If a future feature sends user-provided material to an artificial-intelligence service, API, or other external processor, this Privacy Policy will be updated as appropriate.
Third-Party Links and Resources
The Site may contain links to third-party websites, research tools, libraries, databases, artificial-intelligence tools, or other external services.
When a user leaves AmberKingWriting.com and uses another website or service, that service's privacy practices apply.
AmberKingWriting.com does not control how third-party services collect, store, use, or disclose information.
Educational and Classroom Use
The Site is intended for educational use, including use by college students, instructors, tutors, and other learners.
An instructor may direct students to use the Site, but the Site does not require instructors to identify students to the Site owner.
The Site owner does not intentionally maintain student profiles, grades, enrollment records, or educational records merely because a student uses the publicly available writing tools.
Users remain responsible for complying with any privacy, technology, artificial-intelligence, or academic policies that apply at their school, college, university, or other institution.
Ownership of User Work
Users retain whatever ownership rights they have in essays, drafts, notes, research, outlines, and other original material they enter into the Site.
Using AmberKingWriting.com does not transfer ownership of a user's writing to Amber King.
Local storage of material in a user's browser does not create an ownership interest in that material for the Site owner.
Data Retention
Writing Entered Into the Tools
The Site owner does not intentionally maintain a server-side archive of writing entered into the browser-based writing tools.
Writing stored locally may remain on the user's device until it is cleared or otherwise removed by the browser, device, Site, or user.
Because this information is stored locally, the Site owner generally cannot retrieve, modify, or delete it remotely.
Contact-Form Information
Information submitted through the Contact form may be retained as reasonably necessary to respond to the inquiry, maintain appropriate records, resolve Site issues, or comply with legal obligations.
Hosting Information
Technical server logs and other hosting information may be retained by Hostinger according to its own systems, practices, and retention policies.
Security
Reasonable efforts are made to operate the Site in a manner appropriate for an educational web resource.
However, no website, browser-storage system, network, or Internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users should keep backup copies of important work and should take additional precautions when using shared or public devices.
User Choices and Controls
Depending on the browser and device, users may be able to:
- use the Site's Clear function;
- clear Site data;
- clear local storage;
- clear browsing data;
- control browser storage permissions;
- use private or incognito browsing; or
- download or copy work before clearing it.
Deleting locally stored Site data may permanently remove work that has not been saved elsewhere.
Children
AmberKingWriting.com is an educational writing resource and is not designed for the purpose of collecting personal information from children under 13.
The Site owner does not knowingly solicit personal information from children under 13 through the writing tools.
If you believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information through the Site, please contact the Site owner through the Contact form so that the information can be reviewed and deleted when appropriate.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as the Site, its tools, hosting arrangements, or privacy practices change.
The current version will be posted on this page with its effective or revision date.
If the Site later begins collecting or transmitting user writing in a materially different way, such as by creating user accounts, maintaining server-side drafts, or sending writing to an external AI service, this Policy will be updated to reflect that change.
